Guidance for the application of conformity assessment to accessibility requirements for public procurement of ICT products and services in Europe (CEN/CLC/ETSI TR 101 552)

For those organizations that adopt the European Standard, an important question is how to be assured that any product or service offered actually meets the technical requirements contained in the Standard. This technical report was written to provide guidance for procurement and technical personnel in organizations, to help them determine which of the many available testing approaches, or combinations of testing approaches to implement when adapting the European Standard. This Technical Report (TR) was authored jointly by the agencies that produced the European Standard, namely the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization.(CENELEC), and the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI).
This TR provides guidance on which conformity assessment systems or schemes to refer to in procurement activities. Both pre-award and post-award assessment measures are covered in the TR.
This TR document should be consulted by staff teams who are already knowledgeable about the Standard, and who are already well versed in the concepts and resources contained in the Toolkit(s) and other Training resources available elsewhere in this G3ict Accessible Procurement Portal. This document is highly technical in nature, but other resources are available (and linked to in this Portal) that provide a shorter, more general introduction to the concepts of tying accessibility testing to procurement language.
